Master's students at the °µÍøAV are invited to apply for a cancer research, training, and outreach fellowship for the FanuchÃ¥nan 2021 semester through the UOG Cancer Research Center. The Pacific Island Partnership for Cancer Health Equity (PIPCHE) Graduate Research Fellowship in Cancer Disparities includes paid opportunities as a graduate assistant, research assistant, or both. Applications are due by June 30, 2021.

PIPCHE Graduate Research Fellowship - Fanuchanan 2021

Initial appointment is for one semester, but extensions are possible for up to two years with satisfactory performance.

Tuition waivers up to $3,000 per semester, per student, are possible. Up to an additional $6,000 per semester is available for students who wish to work as research assistants on a U54 PIPCHE research project. Students may apply for one or both forms of funding but are encouraged to apply for both.

Eligibility

  • U.S. citizen, U.S. national, permanent U.S. resident, or citizen of FSM, Marshall Islands, or Palau
  • Admitted to a relevant master's program at UOG
  • Suitable mentor who is a UOG faculty member with experience in cancer research or a relevant field
  • Interest and/or thesis topic related to cancer health disparities in the Pacific
  • Students of Pacific Island ancestry and/or students with significant experience in the Pacific region will be granted priority
