Speaker series for UOGās virtual Tech Fest starts tomorrow

The public is invited to tune into a series of āTech Talksā and esports matches this week as part of the °µĶųAV Office of Information Technologyās third annual Tech Fest. The event this year focuses on the theme of āTechās New Normalā and highlights how technology has bridged people together, assisted education, and sparked new hobbies during the pandemic.
āItās been 15 months of pandemic living [ā¦] so we wanted to focus on how things are being done now as opposed [to before],ā said Manny Hechanova, the universityās interim chief information officer.
Tech Festās virtual āTech Talk Series,ā will start at 1 p.m. on Wednesday on Zoom featuring local leaders speaking on how technology has reinvented businesses and education in the past year.

āIf you ever thought, āIām a little fish āI donāt know if Iāll make it in a big pondā or the dreams that you had just seem unreachable, our speakers will prove that entirely wrong,ā Hechanova said. āThey will show you that their persistence, their drive, and their education got them to where theyāre at today.ā
The conference is targeted toward high school, college, graduate, and post-graduate students as well as anyone in the community who is interested in technology. It is free to attend and no registration is needed.
