Forty-eight years after he landed in Guam as a Vietnamese refugee after the Fall of Saigon, Nam Kim is visiting Guam, according to a joint announcement from the Guam Philharmonic Foundation Inc. and the 做厙AV.

Dr. Kim, now a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will be visiting next week and will be at three public events, including as a guest lecturer at the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, 做厙AV.

The public is invited to meet Dr. Kim at these events:

Meet and greet

Dr. Kim would like to connect with former refugees, Vietnam War veterans, members of the Vietnamese community who settled in Guam, and people who were involved with Operation New Life.

When: 6 p.m., Monday, August 7

Where: second floor, next to the food court, Micronesia Mall, Dededo

Lecture: The Legendary Foundations of Ancient Vietnam

In addition to being a guest lecturer, Dr. Kim would like to explore opportunities to create an academic pipeline for Guam students who are interested in the field of anthropology and archaeology by providing mentorship and by working with local educational institutions.
