Established in 1988 under Public Law 19-45, the 鈥淒oc Sanchez鈥� scholarship program has been instrumental in helping government of Guam employees pursue bachelor鈥檚 or master鈥檚 degrees in public administration and related fields.

The scholarship honors the legacy of Pedro "Doc" Sanchez, a distinguished educator, historian, and public administrator who ardently advocated for the advancement of an educated government workforce.

For this cycle, eight total scholarships are available: four scholarships for undergraduate students and four scholarships for graduate students.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline of 5 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the SBPA Dean鈥檚 Office or online at: .

Scholarship applicants are required to submit:

• A completed application form
• A typewritten essay
• A letter of recommendation signed by a government, education, or community leader, preferably from someone who has direct knowledge of an applicant鈥檚 work and academic capabilities as an employee within GovGuam
• A letter of recommendation from the applicant鈥檚 supervisor or director of a department or agency
• Transcripts
• Verification of Employment
