Registration for the 4-H Summer Enrichment Camps under AV Land Grant is now open, with the first sessions beginning on June 1. The camps — 27 in total — cover a range of subjects from coding and game development, to STEM subjects like biology, physics, and forensic chemistry, to art, cooking, and sewing.

“There is something for everyone again this summer,” said Dareon Rios, an extension agent with the 4-H Youth Development Program. “With the popularity of the game development camps last year, we’ve expanded our computer-based offerings, and we’re also excited to introduce several physics-focused camps this year exploring concepts like momentum, static, and magnets.”

Also new this year is a six-week Theatre Camp where youth can explore acting, singing, and stage performance while preparing to put on a live musical performance. The camp will culminate with the production “Seussical: The Musical,” which will be open to the public for showings from July 14–17 at the UOG Fine Arts Theatre.

Camp offerings are available in half-day sessions, morning or afternoon, for youth from first through 12th grades. All of the camps will be instructed by UOG subject-matter experts who will deliver university-modeled curriculum with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning.
