Created in 1988 through Public Law 19-45, the 鈥淒oc Sanchez鈥� scholarship program has long supported GovGuam employees in pursuing bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees in public administration and related fields. The scholarship commemorates the enduring contributions of Pedro 鈥淒oc鈥� Sanchez鈥攁n esteemed educator, historian, and public administrator who championed the development of a well-educated government workforce.

This year, a total of 12 scholarships will be awarded: six for undergraduate students and six for graduate students.

Applicants must submit their materials by 5 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2025, either to the SBPA Dean鈥檚 Office or online at .

Required application materials include:

• Completed application form
• Typewritten essay
• Letter of recommendation from a government, education, or community leader鈥攑referably someone familiar with the applicant鈥檚 professional and academic performance in GovGuam
• Letter of recommendation from the applicant鈥檚 supervisor or department/agency director
• Official transcripts
• Verification of employment
